O Recife recebe a partir de 10 de outubro a exposição “Objetos da Floresta”. Referência em artes visuais no país, a CAIXA Cultural Recife apresenta em primeira mão os objetos coletados naquela que foi a primeira expedição de design na Amazônia.

Graças a uma cenografia que remete à uma típica casa amazônica, o público é transportado ao universo destes objetos, através dos quais a natureza pode ser realmente vista e sentida. Dentre os vários objetos expostos estão a língua do peixe pirarucu, que é utilizada como ralador na cozinha; as bolsas naturais, que são fabricadas dentro da floresta aproveitando o formato da folha das palmeiras; o tecido tururi, tirado diretamente da árvore pronto para ser costurado; apitos feitos de sementes utilizados para a caça e até um ninho de vespas que é uma verdadeira escultura de papel-machê.

Ver de perto esses objetos e descobrir seu potencial inspira múltiplas maneiras de se redescobrir a natureza, estreitar laços com ela e reinventar o mundo em que vivemos.

Objects of the Forest – Exhibition & Workshop at CAIXA Cultural Recife

The city of Recife receives from October 10^th the exhibition “Objects of the Forest”. CAIXA Cultural Recife, an important venue for visual arts in Brazil,  presents in first hand the objects collected in the first design expedition in the Amazon.

Thanks to a scenography which refers to a typical Amazonian dwelling, the audience is transported to the universe of those objects, through which nature can actually be seen and felt. Among the objects exhibited are the tongue of the fish Pirarucu, which is used as a grater in the kitchen; natural bags, manufactured inside the forest making use of the shape of the leaf of palm trees; the tururi fabric, taken directly from the tree ready to be sewed; whistles made out ​​of seeds used for hunting and even a wasp nest that is actually a paper sculpture.

To see these objects from close and discover their potential serve as inspiration for rediscovering nature in multiple ways, for tightening our bonds with it and helping us reinvent the world in which we live.
